Description

Vertiv VP4N30AU Monitored Unit-Level Vertical PDU

Overview

The VP4N30AU is a monitored, unit-level vertical PDU rated for 30A at 277/480V WYE (19.9kW), delivering 24 Saf-D-Grid Series 400 outlets in a 66.2-inch vertical form factor built for high-density data center cabinets. Unit-level monitoring means you get per-PDU power consumption visibility without the added cost of per-outlet metering — the right balance for rows where circuit-level accountability matters but outlet-by-outlet granularity isn't required. The vertical mount keeps the outlet strip along the cabinet rail, leaving the full rack U-space open for compute equipment rather than consuming horizontal shelf space.

Compatibility

Designed for three-phase 277/480V WYE power distribution environments typical of North American data centers running high-density server and storage rows. The 24 Saf-D-Grid Series 400 outlets accept Anderson Power Products Saf-D-Grid connectors — this PDU is specifically intended for equipment with Saf-D-Grid power inputs or cable adapters. Confirm your cabinet rails support a 66.2-inch vertical PDU before ordering; standard 42U and 47U open-frame or enclosed cabinets with side-mount PDU channels are the typical fit. The 30A input requires a dedicated 30A three-phase circuit with appropriate locking or Saf-D-Grid input connector at the upstream distribution panel.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically along the cabinet's PDU channel using the integrated bracket system. Input feed is three-phase 277/480V WYE — verify upstream panel capacity and breaker sizing before energizing. The unit weighs 27 lbs; two-person install is advisable in confined row environments. Confirm Saf-D-Grid outlet compatibility with all connected load devices prior to commissioning — these outlets do not accept standard NEMA or IEC C13/C19 plugs without an appropriate adapter.
