Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP7557 Zero-U Rack PDU — 11kW 230V 42-Outlet

Overview

The AP7557 is a basic zero-unit rack power distribution unit rated at 11kW / 230V, delivering 42 total outlets — 36 IEC C13 and 6 IEC C19 — in a vertical zero-U form factor that mounts inside the rack cabinet without consuming any rack unit space. That matters in fully loaded cabinets where every U is allocated to active gear. With a 3-meter input cord, it reaches the floor PDU or UPS input without extension cables in standard 600mm–1000mm deep two-post and four-post enclosures. The AP7557 suits data center rows, server rooms, and network equipment racks where you need high-density 230V distribution across a mixed load of servers (C13) and high-draw devices like KVM switches, UPS bypass panels, or storage controllers (C19).

Compatibility

The C13 and C19 outlets accept standard IEC 60320 power cords, making the AP7557 compatible with virtually any rack-mount server, switch, storage array, or UPS output module that ships with a C14 or C20 input — including equipment from HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, and similar enterprise lines. The zero-U vertical mounting style fits two-post open-frame racks and four-post enclosed cabinets that include a vertical PDU mounting channel or bracket; confirm your rack enclosure supports side-mount PDU rails before ordering. The 230V input is suited for regions and facilities using single-phase 230V feeds — not compatible with 120V North American branch circuits. Review your rack PDU selection options if you need a 120V or three-phase variant. For installations pairing PDUs with APC by Schneider Electric UPS systems, the C19 outlets accommodate the higher-current loads typical of tower or rackmount UPS output cords.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically in the PDU channel of the rack before populating outlets — re-routing 42 cords after mounting is impractical. The zero-U profile means no rail kit is required, but confirm the cabinet's vertical PDU bracket fits the AP7557's 2.2-inch width. The 3-meter cord provides adequate slack for most cabinet configurations; do not use extension cords on the input side. Verify the upstream circuit is rated for the 11kW / 230V load at the expected utilization — derate to 80% of circuit capacity per standard power planning practice, which puts the practical ceiling at approximately 8.8kW on a 48A feed.
