Overview
The AP8958EU3 is a 2nd-generation switched, zero-rack-unit PDU delivering 16A at 230V to eight outlets — seven IEC C13 and one IEC C19 — from a single IEC309 16A input. Zero-U form factor means it installs vertically in the rack's side channel or mounts in a 1U bay, preserving usable rack space for active equipment. Per-outlet remote switching lets you power-cycle individual loads without touching the rack — useful for clearing hung devices in remote or lights-out deployments. The output voltage range (200V / 208V / 230V) covers both continental European and select international AC environments.
Compatibility
Designed for standard 19-inch EIA-310 equipment racks and APC NetShelter cabinets. The IEC C13 outlets accept the vast majority of 1U and 2U server, switch, and storage power cords running IEC C14 plugs. The single IEC C19 outlet accommodates higher-draw devices — high-density servers, storage arrays, or UPS bypass loads — using C20 plugs. Input connectivity via IEC309 (industrial pin-and-sleeve) mates with APC and third-party whips or in-row power strips feeding 16A/230V circuits. Compatible with APC's EcoStruxure IT and network management cards (AP9xxx series) for remote monitoring, outlet-level scheduling, and event alerting when fitted with the appropriate management accessory.
Installation Notes
Zero-U mounting brackets are required for vertical side-channel installation — confirm bracket compatibility with your specific cabinet model before ordering. The 9.8 ft (3m) input cord provides reasonable routing flexibility within a standard rack row, but measure your circuit distance before committing. Receptacle configuration supports up to 16 load circuits across the outlet bank; actual simultaneous draw must stay within the 16A branch circuit rating — derate to ~12.8A continuous per standard 80% loading practice.
