Overview
The APC AP4421 is a 10A, 230V Rack Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) designed to provide redundant power to critical IT equipment within a server rack. It accepts power from two independent input sources (e.g., two different PDUs or UPS units) and automatically switches to the secondary source if the primary fails. This ensures continuous operation for connected devices, preventing downtime caused by single power source failures. With twelve C13 outlets, it's suitable for powering multiple servers, network switches, or other rack-mounted gear in environments where uptime is paramount.
Compatibility
This Rack ATS is designed for standard 19-inch rack installations. It accepts input from two C14 power inlets, allowing connection to standard rack PDUs or UPS systems. The twelve C13 outlets provide power to a wide range of IT equipment, including servers, network switches, and storage devices. It is suitable for use with any equipment that draws up to 10A per outlet and operates within the 230V nominal input voltage range (±10%).

The AP4421 features two C14 inlets for input power and twelve C13 outlets for output. It has a maximum output current of 10A per outlet and a total input current capacity of 10A. The transfer time is a maximum of 10ms, ensuring minimal interruption to connected equipment. The unit has a short circuit current rating of 10kA. It operates within a temperature range of –5 to 45°C and 50/60 Hz input frequency.
