Description

Middle Atlantic QFAN Quiet 50 CFM Flush-Mount Rack Fan with Guard

Overview

The Middle Atlantic QFAN is a 4.5-inch, 115V flush-mount rack cooling fan rated at 50 CFM and 30 dBA — the spec pairing that matters when you need meaningful airflow without audible fan noise in a client-facing or low-ambient-noise install. The QFAN mounts in a single 1U rack space, making it practical for tight enclosures where a full fan tray isn't an option. Ball bearing construction is the right call for 24/7 rack environments: sleeve bearings wear faster under continuous load and in non-horizontal orientations — ball bearings handle both. The included fan guard protects against accidental contact with rack equipment installed nearby, which matters when technicians are working inside a populated rack.

Compatibility

Designed for Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and open-frame racks accepting 1U flush-mount accessories, including the BGR, ERK, and PD series rack lines. The 4.7 × 4.7 × 1.5 inch footprint and flush-mount design also suit most standard 19-inch equipment racks and cabinets from other manufacturers where a single 1U cooling slot is available. The 115V/3-pin power connector is compatible with standard North American rack PDUs — wire directly to a PDU outlet or use the included cord. Not intended for international 230V installations without a step-down transformer.

Installation Notes

Mounts flush into a 1U rack opening; mounting hardware and power cord are included so no additional hardware sourcing is required. The 3-pin power connector plugs directly into a rack PDU or standard 115V outlet — verify your PDU has an available outlet before ordering. Ball bearing design supports any mounting orientation, including vertical airflow configurations common in shallow-depth wall enclosures. At 1.5 inches deep, the fan does not significantly intrude into usable rack depth.
