Overview
The Middle Atlantic QBP-2 is a 1U active rack blower panel from the QBP Quiet Blower Panel series, designed to pull heat out of standard 19-inch equipment racks when passive ventilation isn't enough. At 100 CFM and 32 dB, it moves meaningful air volume without turning your server room or AV rack into a noise problem — a genuine tradeoff to weigh against louder high-CFM alternatives. The QBP-2 draws 12 VDC at 840 mA from its included UL Listed power supply (9-foot cord), so no separate transformer or PDU tap is needed at commissioning. Temperature-controlled fan speed means the unit runs quieter during low-load periods and ramps up automatically when rack temps climb — useful in security equipment racks where NVR and PoE switch loads vary by time of day. The black powder coat finish matches standard rack aesthetics. Depth is 10.1 inches — measure your rack's usable interior depth before ordering if clearance is tight.
Compatibility
The QBP-2 mounts in any standard 19-inch EIA rack occupying 1U of space. It is designed for Middle Atlantic rack enclosures including the BGR, ERK, and SLIM5 series, and fits any third-party 19-inch rack that accepts standard 1U panels. This panel is appropriate for rack cooling accessories deployments in security, AV, and IT environments where component heat buildup in enclosed or semi-enclosed NVR and switching racks requires active airflow management. It is not rated for outdoor or wet-location installation — deploy in conditioned indoor spaces only.
Installation Notes
Power is supplied by the included 9-foot UL Listed cord — route to a nearby outlet or rack-mounted PDU. The temperature-controlled fan circuit handles speed regulation automatically; no external controller or wiring is required. Confirm 1U of free rack space adjacent to heat-generating equipment for maximum effectiveness. The 10.1-inch depth requires adequate rear clearance behind the rack rail; verify before mounting in shallow or wall-hung enclosures. Consider a rack-mounted power strip if no open outlet is available near the installation point.
