Overview
The TRX-10GITSFPP-SR is a 10GbE SFP+ short-reach optical transceiver operating at 850nm, designed to deliver full 10 Gigabit throughput over multimode fiber at distances up to 300m. That 300m reach covers most intra-building and campus backbone runs without requiring costlier long-reach modules — the right fit when you're upinking NAS enclosures, switches, or NVR arrays across floors or between IDF and MDF closets. The industrial-temperature rating means it handles elevated ambient heat inside densely packed rack environments without throttling or signal degradation.
Compatibility
Designed for QNAP network devices and NAS units equipped with SFP+ expansion slots, including the QNAP NAS and switch lineup. Compatible with QNAP managed network switches that expose SFP+ ports — including the QSW and QGD series — as well as NAS units fitted with 10GbE SFP+ expansion cards (QXG-10G1T, QXG-10G2T, QXG-10G2SF-X710 and similar). The 850nm SR designation means this module requires multimode fiber (OM3 or OM4) to achieve the rated 300m distance; single-mode infrastructure will not work with this transceiver. If your runs exceed 300m or you're working with existing single-mode plant, you'll need an LR variant instead. For fiber infrastructure planning and patch cable selection, confirm your installed fiber type before ordering.
Installation Notes
Insert into any SFP+ cage on a compatible QNAP device — no tools required beyond the module itself. The industrial-temperature rating tolerates higher sustained ambient temperatures than commercial-grade modules, which matters in server rooms running above standard operating range. Confirm your switch or NAS firmware recognizes third-party or QNAP-branded transceivers; some managed switches require explicit third-party transceiver acceptance to be enabled in firmware before the port will negotiate. Pair with OM3 or OM4 multimode fiber patch cables rated for 10G at the intended run length.
