Overview
The ACTi CTS-RL500-4K20 is a 4K PTZ camera built for professional AV and broadcast environments where direct NDI streaming to production systems is a requirement. Equipped with 20X optical zoom and multi-interface connectivity (SDI, HDMI, IP, USB 3.0), this camera addresses the integration challenge of bringing live PTZ control and 4K-resolution feeds into diverse broadcast workflows without external converters or middleware. NDI support means the camera streams directly to NDI-capable switchers, graphics engines, and recording systems — eliminating the intermediate transcoding step that burns CPU and adds latency.
Compatibility
The CTS-RL500-4K20 is compatible with NDI-enabled broadcast production environments running Newtek NDI infrastructure (NDI HX, NDI|HX3, NDI 5+). The multi-interface design (SDI, HDMI, IP) integrates with standard broadcast switchers, vision mixers, and video routing systems that support any of these outputs simultaneously. IP output supports standard RTMP and RTSP protocols for integration with ONVIF-compatible video management systems and media servers. USB 3.0 output enables direct connection to production workstations running broadcast software (OBS, vMix, Wirecast) without capture cards. No special drivers or third-party controllers required for NDI streaming — NDI is native to the firmware.
Installation Notes
This is a tabletop or pedestal-mount design; it is not designed for permanent wall or ceiling installation. Requires 24V DC power supply (not included). IP output operates on standard Gigabit Ethernet; SDI and HDMI are unbalanced video-only outputs. If deploying in a studio environment with multiple PTZ units, manage IP addressing and NDI discovery carefully — each unit will advertise on the local network, and broadcast software will enumerate all available feeds. USB 3.0 connection to workstations should use shielded cables under 15 feet to maintain data integrity. PTZ control via IP requires a network port; if IP is also used for video streaming, ensure your network has sufficient bandwidth for concurrent streams (4K at 100 Mbps nominal).
