Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP9896 C19 to NEMA L6-30P Power Cord

Overview

The AP9896 is an 8-foot power cord with a NEMA L6-30P male plug on one end and an IEC C19 connector on the other, designed to connect high-draw rack PDUs or UPS units to 240V L6-30P twist-lock receptacles commonly found in data center and server room power panels. The L6-30P configuration handles up to 30A at 250V — meaning it won't be the bottleneck when feeding dense rack loads. The 8-foot length gives enough slack to route from a floor-mounted or wall-mounted L6-30P outlet up to mid-rack or top-of-rack PDU positions without excessive cable management gymnastics. The cord ships in black, consistent with standard rack cabling practices.

Compatibility

The C19 female connector mates with IEC C20 inlets found on APC Rack PDUs (AP78xx, AP79xx, AP86xx series) and APC Smart-UPS and Symmetra units with C20 input receptacles. The NEMA L6-30P plug fits standard 30A, 250V twist-lock receptacles — the same outlet type installed on most commercial raised-floor and enclosed-rack power distribution infrastructure. Verify your PDU or UPS input rating before deploying: C19/C20 connections are rated for up to 16A continuous (IEC standard) or 20A where the equipment is rated accordingly — confirm your device's input spec matches before running at full L6-30P panel capacity. Not compatible with 120V NEMA L5-30P or standard C13/C14 configurations.

Installation Notes

The L6-30P plug requires a clockwise quarter-turn to lock into the receptacle — confirm full engagement before energizing. Route the cord away from sharp rack edges and ensure the 8-foot length is sufficient for your specific rack-to-outlet distance before ordering; this cord is not field-shortenable. APC covers this cord under a 2-year repair or replace warranty.
