Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP9890 IEC-320 C14 to C13 Power Cord, 2 ft

Overview

The AP9890 is a 2-foot (0.61 m) IEC-320 C14-to-C13 power cord designed for short-run connections between rack-mounted PDUs and equipment with C13 inlets — servers, network switches, KVM units, and similar rack gear. At 2 feet, it keeps cable management tight inside the cabinet without the slack of a standard 6-foot cord. The 16 AWG, 3-conductor H05VV-F rubber jacket handles the thermal demands of always-on rack environments and is rated to 158°F, making it appropriate for high-density enclosures where ambient temps climb. UL, CSA, and VDE listings confirm it meets North American and European safety standards, so it qualifies for mixed-region deployments and audited data center environments.

Compatibility

Connects any IEC-320 C14 male inlet (PDU outlets, rack power strips) to any APC by Schneider Electric PDU or equipment with a C13 female receptacle. Common pairings include APC Basic and Metered Rack PDUs (AP7xxx series), APC Smart-UPS with IEC C13 output ports, and third-party rack switches or 1U appliances with C13 inlets. The C14-to-C13 configuration is one of the most widely used power cord types in structured rack cabinet installations — confirm your PDU outlet type is C14 and your device inlet is C13 before ordering.

Installation Notes

Black jacket color aids visual identification in dense cable runs. The 2-foot length suits same-rack or adjacent-rack-unit connections; for cross-rack or top-of-rack PDU runs, a longer variant is the correct choice. No tools required — seat both ends fully until the C13 clip engages. Temperature rating of 158°F (70°C) sets the upper service limit; do not route through enclosed conduit runs that exceed this ambient threshold.
