Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8758 Locking C19 to IEC309-16A Power Cord 3.0M

Overview

The AP8758 is a 3.0-meter power cord designed to connect IEC 60320 C19 equipment — high-draw rack-mount servers, PDUs, and UPS units — to IEC 309 (16A) single-phase panel outlets or power strips common in European and international data center builds. The locking C19 connector prevents accidental disconnection under load, a meaningful safeguard in high-density rack environments where a pulled cord can drop an entire stack. If your facility uses IEC 309-format outlet banks and you're running hardware with C20 inlets at or near 16A, this cord bridges the gap without an adapter chain that introduces additional resistance or failure points.

Compatibility

The C19 female end mates with C20 male inlets rated up to 16A, which covers APC Smart-UPS and Symmetra series units, rack-mount servers, and high-current PDUs using C20 input receptacles. The IEC 309-16A male plug connects to IEC 309 single-phase 16A outlets — standard in European colocation facilities and increasingly common in international enterprise deployments. Verify your PDU or UPS inlet is a C20 (not C14, which requires a different cord) before ordering. Not intended for North American NEMA outlet configurations.

Installation Notes

The locking C19 collar requires a deliberate quarter-turn to seat and release — verify the lock is fully engaged after installation. Cord is rated for continuous 16A draw; do not exceed this on shared circuits. VDE regulatory approval confirms compliance with European safety standards. RoHS compliance makes this cord suitable for installations subject to European environmental directives. Route away from heat sources and sharp edges; 3.0M gives sufficient slack for most mid-depth rack configurations without excess cable management burden.
