Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP8760 Locking C19 to C20 Power Cord

Overview

The AP8760 is a 10-foot (3.0M) black locking power cord terminating in a C19 connector on the device end and a C20 plug on the source end — designed specifically for high-density rack environments where an accidental disconnection under load is not acceptable. The locking mechanism positively retains the C19 connection at the device, preventing costly downtime from cord pullout during maintenance or cable management work. This cord fits squarely in IT power distribution applications: server racks, UPS units with C20 outlets, and rack-mounted PDU installations where C19 equipment must be reliably secured.

Compatibility

The AP8760 connects any IEC 60320 C19 inlet device to a C20 receptacle. Compatible source-side PDUs include APC rack power strips and APC by Schneider Electric rack PDU families with C20 outlets — including AP78xx, AP79xx, and AP84xx series rack PDUs. On the device side, it fits C19-equipped servers, high-draw network switches, UPS bypass panels, and other rack equipment drawing up to 16A. Verify your PDU's C20 outlet count and amperage rating before deploying — C19/C20 pairs are rated for 16A max; do not use on circuits requiring C13/C14 (lower-current) connections. Certifications cover a broad deployment range: UL Listed and CSA for North America, VDE Approved and RoHS Compliant for Europe, PSE Approved for Japan, and CCC for China — making this cord viable across rack power accessory deployments in multinational facilities without sourcing region-specific variants.

Installation Notes

Insert the C19 end fully until the locking tab engages — an incomplete seat will not lock and defeats the pullout-prevention purpose. Route with standard cable management practices; the 10-foot length accommodates most 2-post and 4-post rack configurations where the PDU mounts at mid-rail or rail-end. Color is black throughout, consistent with typical rack cable color conventions. No tools required for connection. Cord is factory-new and RoHS compliant — appropriate for facilities with environmental procurement requirements.
