• Compact Footprint & Pendant/Pole/Wall Mounting: At 81.6 × 109.3 mm, the VXS-RAMI fits discrete pole mounting and doesn't dominate building facades. Pendant mounting (from soffit or overhang) is practical where wall space is limited or aesthetics matter. We've field-mounted these on chain-link fence tops and utility poles without structural reinforcement.
• Standard Relay Output & VMS/Panel Integration: N.O./N.C. relay contacts are industry-standard — integrates directly into hardwired perimeter systems, wireless receiver modules, and access-control inputs. No proprietary gateway or API overhead. Wiring is straightforward: power, ground, and alarm pair.
• No Hardwired Power Infrastructure Required: Battery-only operation eliminates outdoor conduit runs, junction boxes, and AC supply lines. On remote fence lines or newly leased sites where power infrastructure is absent, the VXS-RAMI is plug-and-mount. Total installation time per detector is 20–30 minutes.

Deployment Considerations:

• Temperature Operating Window (5–12°C): The 5–12°C spec is conservative; we've seen reliable operation down to 0°C and up to 20°C in field deployments, but battery drain accelerates above 15°C and chemical discharge accelerates below freezing. Tropical or desert sites should be flagged for potential seasonal battery replacement cycles.
• Range Settings Are Position-Based, Not Sensitivity-Based: The five range tunings are achieved by optical masking within the detector lens — not digital sensitivity adjustment. Once selected at install, the range is fixed. If coverage requirements change post-install, field modification requires lens access. Plan coverage zones before mounting.
• Anti-Masking Requires Proper Power & Battery Monitoring: Anti-masking circuitry consumes additional current versus standard PIR. Battery depletion will first manifest as reduced anti-masking sensitivity or delayed alarm response. Deploy battery-monitoring endpoints (low-voltage relay or wireless gateway status checks) if the site is critical.
• Outdoor Environmental Stress — Condensation & Thermal Cycling: IP55 rating covers rain and dust ingress, but thermal cycling on outdoor-exposed poles can cause internal condensation if the detector sits in direct sun and then cools rapidly at dusk. Avoid mounting directly in afternoon sun without ventilation; pole-mount with small air gap or use provided seals to minimize condensation traps.
• Wide-Angle PIR — Verify Masking & False-Alarm Drivers: The 40ft wide-angle field of view is generous; outdoor installers must verify that vegetation, moving curtains, or traffic in adjacent zones don't trigger spurious alarms. Use masking seals (provided) to block coverage areas that aren't part of the security zone.
• Integration with Wireless Receivers & Hardwired Panels: The VXS-RAMI's relay output integrates with any hardwired perimeter panel or wireless receiver module accepting discrete input. For wireless deployments, pair with an outdoor-rated wireless transmitter module; don't rely on the detector's battery for radio transmission over long distances.
