Overview

The Bosch IIR-50850-MR is a medium-range 850nm infrared illuminator designed to significantly enhance the low-light and night-time performance of IP cameras. It addresses the common limitation of built-in camera IR by providing more powerful, adjustable illumination for critical areas, particularly in surveillance applications where clear identification is paramount after dark. This unit is ideal for extending the effective range of cameras in large outdoor areas, perimeter security, or industrial sites where ambient light is minimal.

Compatibility

This illuminator is compatible with any IP camera or surveillance system that requires supplemental IR illumination. Its 850nm wavelength is standard for most monochrome night vision cameras. The device is designed to work with cameras that have a photocell sensitivity setting adjustable between 20 lx and 70 lx for automatic day/night switching. It is not limited to specific Bosch camera series but functions as a universal IR enhancement.

Installation Notes

Installation requires a 12 to 32 VDC power supply, drawing a maximum of 26W. The unit features a robust, vandal-resistant polycarbonate front window with self-cleaning technology and is housed in anodized aluminum extrusion. It includes a stainless steel U-bracket for mounting, allowing for beam angle adjustments via interchangeable lenses (10°, 30°, 60°, and 95°). The operating temperature range is -50 °C to +50 °C (-58 °F to +122 °F), and it carries an IP66 rating for dust and water ingress protection. A 3-meter (9 ft) cable is provided.
