Overview

The Bosch IIR-50850-LR is a long-range 850nm infrared illuminator designed to significantly enhance the low-light and nighttime performance of IP cameras. It provides adjustable IR intensity and beam angles, allowing you to precisely match illumination to camera coverage and scene requirements, thereby reducing noise and improving detail capture in dark conditions. This unit is ideal for large outdoor areas such as parking lots, industrial yards, or perimeter security where camera sensors alone struggle to provide usable footage after dark. The IIR-50850-LR model offers a maximum range of 268 meters (881 ft) with its narrow 10° beam angle.

Compatibility

This illuminator is designed for use with IP cameras that feature sensitive low-light sensors and are capable of capturing 850nm IR light. It is compatible with cameras requiring 12 to 32 VDC power input and drawing up to 39W. The adjustable photocell sensitivity (20 lx to 70 lx) ensures the illuminator activates only when ambient light drops below a set threshold, conserving power. It is suitable for integration with various camera systems, particularly those deployed in large-scale surveillance networks.

Installation Notes

Installation requires a 12 to 32 VDC power source capable of supplying at least 39W. The unit features an anodized aluminum extrusion housing and a polycarbonate front window, rated IP66 for dust and water ingress protection and IK09 for impact resistance, making it suitable for harsh outdoor environments. The included stainless steel U-bracket allows for flexible mounting. The illuminator comes with a 3-meter (9 ft) power cable. Beam angles are selectable via physical adjustment: 10°, 30°, 60°, and 95°. IR intensity is adjustable from 10% to 100% to prevent overexposure and optimize range.
