Middle Atlantic BGR-552FT-FC Integrated Fan Top with Proportional Speed Controller

Overview

The BGR-552FT-FC is an active fan top module purpose-built for Middle Atlantic BGR series open-frame racks. It mounts directly to the top of the rack enclosure and moves 552 CFM of airflow through eight 4-inch DC fans — enough to handle thermally dense AV and security equipment loads where passive venting falls short. The integrated proportional speed fan controller adjusts fan RPM based on thermal demand rather than running fans at full speed continuously, which meaningfully reduces acoustic output during lighter load periods. At 12 VDC output with 120V AC input, no separate power supply or transformer is required for standard North American rack installations.

Compatibility

The BGR-552FT-FC is designed exclusively for Middle Atlantic BGR series rack enclosures. The physical footprint — 22.38 in wide × 15.72 in tall × 1.53 in deep — is matched to BGR series rack top openings. Verify your specific BGR rack model accepts a fan top accessory before ordering; not all BGR configurations include a fan top cutout. This unit is not designed for use with WR, ERK, or other Middle Atlantic rack families. It is not available for international shipment and is rated for 120V AC only — incompatible with 240V environments without a step-down transformer.
