Description

HID 2000PGGAN Proximity Access Card

Overview

The HID 2000PGGAN is an RF-programmable proximity credential built on proven passive technology — no battery, infinite service life. It solves the core access control credential problem: you need a card your workforce will carry without thinking about it. At 0.24 oz, it fits a wallet, a purse, or a lanyard clip without bulk. The 2000PGGAN specifically is programmed and ready to deploy into any HID proximity reader ecosystem — no additional configuration steps on arrival.

The card format supports up to 85-bit encoding with over 137 billion unique code combinations, eliminating credential collision risk in enterprise deployments. The gloss finish (front and back) resists fingerprint staining and supports direct-image overlays if you need to print employee photos or barcodes. Passive design means read range stays consistent regardless of how the cardholder positions it — unaffected by body shielding, keys in the same pocket, or environmental moisture. This consistency is why proximity cards remain the standard in retail, warehousing, and office access environments.

Compatibility

The 2000PGGAN works with all HID proximity readers across the ProxCard II family and any HID reader certified for ProxCard II credentials. This includes legacy 125 kHz proximity systems and modern integrated access control platforms that accept HID proximity input. Cross-reference documentation correlating external card number to programmed ID is provided for straightforward administration in your directory or access control panel — no manual remapping required.

Installation Notes

Cards arrive programmed and ready for issuance. Simply distribute to cardholders with the optional external strap or clip if they prefer badge-style carry. The flexible, cracking-resistant PVC construction tolerates daily handling in warehouse, retail, and hospitality environments without degradation. No special storage, no environmental controls required — the passive design survives temperature and humidity variation that would drain batteries in active credentials.
