i-PRO WV-S2536LGNA 2MP Outdoor Vandal-Resistant Dome Camera

The i-PRO WV-S2536LGNA is a 2MP 1080p outdoor dome network camera designed for perimeter security, building entrances, and high-traffic surveillance deployments. Built with enterprise-grade durability and embedded AI analytics, this camera delivers reliable threat detection and comprehensive coverage in exposed outdoor environments.

Key Features

• 2MP 1080p Resolution — Sharp detail capture for standard surveillance scenes with balanced field coverage
• 3.1x Optical Zoom (2.9–9mm Lens) — Adjustable focal length enables flexible monitoring from wide perimeter views to targeted detail capture
• 50m IR Night Vision — Built-in IR LEDs provide full 24/7 visibility in complete darkness without external illuminators
• IP66 & IK10 Vandal Rating — Sealed against dust and high-pressure water jets; withstands direct impact and mechanical abuse for harsh outdoor and accessible mounting locations
• PoE Power (Class 0) — Single Ethernet cable delivers both data and power for simplified installation and reduced cabling costs
• H.265, H.264 & MJPEG Compression — Multiple codec support optimizes bandwidth and storage efficiency across diverse network environments
• Edge AI Analytics — Facial recognition and object detection capabilities enable real-time threat identification at the camera without backend processing
• ONVIF Compliance — Standards-based integration with third-party VMS and security platforms
• Built-in Audio Support — Microphone input for two-way communication and event audio correlation
• microSD Local Storage — On-camera recording backup for mission-critical footage retention

Technical Highlights

The camera employs H.265 primary compression to minimize bandwidth consumption on congested networks, with H.264 and MJPEG fallback options for legacy system compatibility. Day/night switching ensures optimal image quality across lighting conditions, while the 3.1x optical zoom provides flexible coverage without digital degradation. PoE Class 0 operation simplifies outdoor installations by eliminating separate power supplies and conduit runs.

HTTPS encryption and signed firmware protect against unauthorized access and man-in-the-middle attacks. ONVIF compatibility ensures vendor-neutral integration with enterprise VMS platforms, enabling centralized management across multi-camera deployments.

Ideal Applications

• Building perimeters and access control points
• High-traffic public spaces and parking facilities
• Retail and commercial outdoor areas
• Campus and government facility monitoring
• Vandalism-prone locations requiring impact-resistant housings

Perspective based on aggregated IPSD and affiliated engineering team experience.

The WV-S2536LGNA strikes an effective balance between ruggedness and intelligent edge processing. The IK10 vandal rating and IP66 sealing make it suitable for accessible mounting locations where casual tampering is a concern—a critical requirement for perimeter and public-facing deployments. The 50m IR reach covers most outdoor scenarios without supplementary lighting, reducing installation complexity and operating costs.

Edge AI facial recognition capabilities reduce backend server load and latency-sensitive processing demands, enabling faster threat response. The combination of H.265 compression with PoE Class 0 operation keeps both bandwidth and power draw modest, supporting larger surveillance arrays on existing infrastructure without costly upgrades.

ONVIF certification and HTTPS encryption align with enterprise security policies, while microSD backup provides local failover during network interruptions. This camera is well-suited for integrators managing multi-site deployments requiring standardized, compliant hardware with proven outdoor durability.
