Overview

The HPE 878366-B21 is an internal hard drive bay expansion kit for the HPE ProLiant server platform, specifically engineered to add an 8-bay Small Form Factor (SFF) hot-plug drive cage to the DL580 Gen10. If your DL580 Gen10 shipped with fewer drive bays than your workload demands — dense database, virtualization, or network video recording with high channel counts — this kit closes that gap without requiring a chassis swap. The 878366-B21 slots into the server's designated bay expansion location, enabling up to eight additional 2.5-inch SFF drives to be installed and managed within the existing chassis footprint.

Compatibility

Designed exclusively for the HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen10 four-socket server. This kit is not cross-compatible with DL580 Gen9, DL560, DL380, or other ProLiant families — the mechanical bay geometry and backplane connectors are generation- and model-specific. Confirm your server's current bay configuration and available expansion slots in the chassis before ordering; the DL580 Gen10 supports multiple bay kit configurations and the available slot depends on the base server option purchased.
