If you're populating a DL380 G11 with NVMe or U.3 tri-mode drives and need to extend capacity beyond the front bay baseline, this tray assembly gives you the internal mounting infrastructure to do it without a chassis swap. At 3.94 lb, it ships as a discrete mechanical assembly designed to fit the specific mid-plane topology of the Gen11 chassis.

Compatibility

Designed specifically for the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 in the 2U, 8 Small Form Factor (8SFF) configuration. The U.3 interface supports NVMe, SAS, and SATA drives in a single bay — provided the backplane and HBA/controller in your system support U.3 tri-mode operation. Verify your server storage controller supports U.3 before ordering; a standard SAS HBA without tri-mode firmware will not negotiate NVMe over the U.3 connector. This kit is chassis- and generation-specific — it is not compatible with DL380 Gen10 or earlier, nor with 12LFF or 24SFF chassis variants.

Installation Notes

Installation is a tool-assisted internal chassis operation on the DL380 Gen11.
