Honeywell PROSIXSIREN Wireless Indoor Siren
Overview
The Honeywell PROSIXSIREN is a wireless indoor siren for the ProSeries alarm platform, delivering up to 85 dB of sound output combined with a red and white LED strobe. It communicates with the panel over the SiX two-way encrypted wireless protocol using 128-bit AES encryption. The strobe pattern differentiates alarm types: white for intrusion events, alternating red and white for fire and CO alarms.
Deployment scenarios
The PROSIXSIREN adds audible and visual alarm notification to rooms remote from the main panel. Typical placements include bedrooms, basements, detached garages, and upper floors where the panel built-in sounder may not be audible. The wireless design allows placement anywhere within the 300+ ft open-air communication range of the PROA7PLUS or PROA7PLUSC panel.
Notification features
Sound output reaches 85 dB. The dual-color LED strobe provides visual notification for hearing-impaired occupants and distinguishes between intrusion, fire, and CO alarm conditions by color pattern. The SiX protocol provides two-way communication with supervision and encryption.
Installation notes
Powered by 4 lithium AA batteries (included). Dimensions are 5.5" diameter x 1.8" thick. Wall or ceiling mounting. Compatible with ProSeries PROA7PLUS and PROA7PLUSC panels.

The PROSIXSIREN is an essential addition to ProSeries installations in multi-story or large-footprint homes. The 85 dB output is adequate for a single room, and I typically install two or three of these to ensure audibility throughout the structure.
Technical Highlights:
- Alarm type differentiation: White strobe for intrusion versus red/white for fire and CO gives occupants instant visual identification of the threat
- SiX encryption: 128-bit AES two-way protocol provides supervised communication between the siren and panel
Deployment Considerations:
- Place the siren in sleeping areas and basements where the main panel sounder cannot be heard with doors closed
- Verify the wireless signal strength at the intended mounting location using the panel walk test before final installation
The color-coded strobe is a genuinely useful feature. In a fire event, occupants can immediately distinguish the alarm type from a burglary alarm, which changes the appropriate response.
