Honeywell LTE-IV Dual-Path Verizon LTE Alarm Communicator
Overview
The Honeywell LTE-IV is a dual-path alarm communicator providing Verizon 4G LTE Cat 1 cellular and internet connectivity for VISTA-series control panels. It delivers alarm signals, supervisory events, and status reports to the central monitoring station over redundant communication paths with 256-bit AES encryption.
Deployment scenarios
The LTE-IV serves the same role as the LTE-IA but on the Verizon network. It is the preferred communicator for installations in areas where Verizon provides stronger LTE coverage than AT&T, or where the monitoring company standardizes on Verizon for fleet management. Dual-path operation satisfies UL/ULC commercial monitoring requirements.
Communication specifications
The unit operates on Verizon 4G LTE Cat 1 with an internal penta-band antenna and receive diversity. Full Contact ID reporting format. 256-bit AES encryption. Connection to the panel via 4-wire ECP bus.
Power and installation
Power input is 16.5 V AC 40 VA transformer with a 6 V 3.1 AH backup battery. Dimensions are 8.4" x 8.0" x 1.5". Compatible with VISTA-15P, VISTA-20P, VISTA-128BPT, and VISTA-250BPT panels.

The LTE-IV is functionally identical to the LTE-IA, with the only difference being the Verizon cellular module. I recommend running signal strength tests for both carriers during the site survey and selecting whichever provides the stronger signal at the panel location.
Technical Highlights:
- Verizon LTE network: Leverages Verizon 4G LTE coverage for areas where AT&T signal strength is insufficient
- Dual-path redundancy: Cellular plus internet paths ensure alarm delivery even during single-path outages
Deployment Considerations:
- Run a Verizon coverage and signal strength test at the panel location during the site survey
- Coordinate with the monitoring company to activate the cellular account and register the communicator before the installation date
Both the LTE-IA and LTE-IV are drop-in replacements for older 3G and CDMA communicators in the VISTA platform. Plan the cellular account activation in advance to avoid delays on installation day.
