Description

Panduit ST23-075-30BK StrongHold™ High-Voltage Insulating Tape

Panduit ST23-075-30BK StrongHold™ tape delivers self-fusing EPR insulation rated to 69 kV for high-voltage splice protection and cable jacketing in critical power installations. The ¾" × 30' roll handles primary-voltage conductor repairs, UPS battery terminations, and industrial splice encapsulation where moisture ingress or dielectric failure isn't an option. Unlike vinyl or rubber tapes that degrade under load, this ethylene propylene rubber construction bonds to itself without adhesive, forming a unified insulating jacket that won't unwind or leave residue.

Key Features

  • 69 kV dielectric strength — suitable for primary-voltage splicing and cable repair in utility, datacenter, and industrial power systems
  • Self-fusing EPR construction — bonds into a solid mass without adhesive; no unwinding, no sticky residue on conductors
  • ¾" × 30' (19 mm × 9.14 m) — standard width for bus-bar wraps, cable splices, and termination insulation
  • UV-resistant formulation — maintains dielectric properties outdoors; won't crack or harden under direct sun exposure
  • Moisture, corrosion & chemical resistant — protects connections in wet environments, salt-air installations, or where cleaning solvents are used
  • Indoor/outdoor rated — single SKU for substation, rooftop HVAC, or underground vault applications
  • RoHS & REACH compliant, lead-free — meets EU and California material restrictions for international projects

The self-amalgamating property of EPR eliminates the failure modes common to adhesive-backed tapes. When stretched and overlapped 50%, adjacent wraps cold-weld into a single rubber layer with no seams or air gaps. This prevents moisture wicking along the splice, eliminates corona discharge at edges, and creates a flexible, re-insulated section mechanically indistinguishable from factory jacketing. The material resists ozone degradation and maintains elasticity across -40°C to +90°C, so outdoor terminations stay sealed through freeze/thaw cycles and summer heat. Unlike mastic or putty wraps, EPR won't flow or sag on vertical runs, and it remains removable if you need to re-terminate — cut and peel without leaving gum on the conductor.

Deploy ST23-075-30BK on 480V or 600V three-phase splices in mechanical rooms, medium-voltage feeder taps in substations, or battery string inter-tier jumpers in datacenter UPS arrays. It's the standard wrap for explosion-proof motor leads in Class I Div 2 spaces, where a failed splice can ignite vapor. The ¾" width covers 2/0 to 500 kcmil cable splices in two to three layers, and the 30-foot roll length handles multiple terminations per roll without mid-splice seams. For lower-voltage work (under 1 kV), it over-insulates generously, giving you headroom on projects where voltage transients or induced lightning surges are concerns. The black colorway is industry-standard for high-voltage marking — inspectors and maintenance crews immediately recognize the wrap as primary-voltage insulation.

Compliant with RoHS and REACH material restrictions, the tape qualifies for projects with environmental procurement requirements or California Prop 65 constraints. Single-roll packaging (60 per carton) suits job-site distribution — toss one in your kit without carrying bulk inventory. For mission-critical power infrastructure where splice failure means downtime measured in five or six figures, Panduit StrongHold™ EPR tape is the field-proven insulator that integrators and industrial electricians specify when the voltage and consequence are both high.
