Description

Panduit ST17-075-66GY StrongHold General Purpose Electrical Tape

The Panduit ST17-075-66GY is a contractor-grade PVC electrical tape engineered for primary insulation, phase identification, and general wire bundling in low-voltage systems. Built on StrongHold™ backing with pressure-sensitive adhesive, this 3/4" × 66' tape delivers UL 510-certified performance for splicing applications up to 600V and 80°C. Gray colorway supports neutral/common wire marking in electrical panels, cable trays, and field termination work. Non-corrosive adhesive bonds on contact without heat or moisture activation, and high elongation allows the tape to conform tightly around irregular wire bundles, crimped terminals, and jacketed cable transitions.

Key Features

  • UL 510 listed for primary insulation up to 600V and 80°C (176°F)
  • 0.75" × 66' × 0.007" PVC construction with pressure-sensitive adhesive
  • Gray colorway for neutral/common wire identification
  • High elongation backing conforms to irregular surfaces and tight-radius bends
  • Non-corrosive adhesive requires no heat or moisture for activation
  • RoHS 2002/95/EC compliant for export and municipal projects
  • Individually cellophane-wrapped for tool-bag protection
  • CSA C22.2 No. 197 certified for Canadian installations

StrongHold tape uses a plasticized PVC backing that stretches under tension, allowing installers to pre-load wraps for mechanical security around splice connectors, terminal blocks, and wire-nut assemblies. The 7-mil thickness strikes a balance between handleability and conformability—thin enough to layer without bulk, thick enough to resist tearing during pull-tension wrapping. Pressure-sensitive adhesive chemistry eliminates the curing delay common in heat-activated tapes, so wrapped connections can be bundled or routed immediately. UL 510 certification confirms dielectric strength, adhesion retention after thermal cycling, and flame-resistance performance; this rating is mandatory for primary insulation in NEC 110.14(B) splicing applications and supports inspector signoff on commercial electrical rough-ins.

Gray tape serves as the de facto standard for neutral and common conductor marking in three-phase panels, data-center cable trays, and access-control power distribution. Unlike adhesive labels, tape wraps create a 360° color band that remains visible regardless of wire orientation in dense bundles. The 66-foot length provides approximately 80–100 wrap cycles at standard 6–8" spacing, enough to phase-mark a typical 42-circuit panel or color-code a mid-sized cable pull. Contractors working across low-voltage security, access control, and AV infrastructure rely on this tape for everything from marking 18 AWG door-contact homeruns to bundling Cat6 patch cables behind equipment racks. The non-corrosive adhesive won't interact with copper conductors or aluminum EMT, preventing the galvanic-corrosion risk that can occur with acidic adhesive formulations in coastal or high-humidity environments.

Meets UL 510 and CSA C22.2 No. 197 for use as primary electrical insulation in North American installations. RoHS 2002/95/EC compliance supports municipal and federal projects with lead-free material mandates. Packaged in cartons of 100 rolls (10-packs of 10) for volume purchasing on commercial builds.
