Overview

The Comnet CNGE2FE8MSPOE+ is a 10-port hardened managed Ethernet switch designed for distributed surveillance and outdoor networking where redundancy and PoE power delivery are non-negotiable. It combines eight 10/100BASE-T ports (each capable of delivering 30W IEEE 802.3at PoE+) with two gigabit SFP/RJ-45 combo uplinks—total PoE budget of 240W across the eight powered ports. This is the switch to pick when you're deploying dozens of PoE+ cameras across multiple buildings or harsh environments and need sub-10ms network failover to prevent recording gaps.

Compatibility

The CNGE2FE8MSPOE+ works with any standard PoE/PoE+ IP camera (Axis, Hikvision, Uniview, Dahua, Bosch, Hanwha, etc.) that draws ≤30W per port. The two gigabit combo ports accept either fiber-optic SFP modules (for long-haul uplinks between buildings) or standard RJ-45 gigabit connections—common for NVR backhaul or backbone aggregation. Supports ONVIF-compliant VMS platforms via standard Ethernet management protocols (eConsole, Web UI, Telnet, CLI). C-Ring and ComRing redundancy protocols work with other Comnet switches to create ring topologies that auto-reroute traffic on link failure.
