Overview
The Geovision GV-5016-95 is a 16-channel display expansion card built for Geovision DVR platforms where multi-stream real-time monitoring must run without CPU bottleneck. It offloads display rendering to dedicated hardware, allowing your DVR to process all 16 video and audio inputs at 480 FPS aggregate (NTSC) or 400 FPS (PAL) while maintaining crisp playback across multiple views. The card uses H.264 hardware compression to keep bandwidth tight—critical in older surveillance systems where CPU headroom is finite. Install the GV-5016-95 directly into your host DVR; it requires the supplied USB dongle to function and works in dual-card configurations for 32-channel displays.
Compatibility
The GV-5016-95 is designed for Geovision DVR-based surveillance platforms that support PCI-Express expansion. It connects via dual PCI-E (x1) slots and integrates with Geovision's analog and hybrid DVR ecosystems. Verify your DVR supports multi-card expansion before ordering two units in parallel. The card does not work with microphones powered directly from the PC—use only externally powered audio sources to avoid ground loop and power delivery conflicts.
Installation Notes
Insert the supplied Hardware Watchdog Jumper Wire into the 2-pin connector on the master card when running dual units. The LFH-type audio/video connector uses a trapezoid latch and must align correctly with the chipset side of the card (marked with an 'H'). Ensure your host machine meets minimum specs: Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz CPU for a single card, Core i5 650 3.20 GHz for dual cards, and 2 GB RAM per card. Video display output requires 800×600 minimum (1280×1024 recommended) with 32-bit color and DirectX 9.0c support. After installation and boot, both Power LED (D19) and Status LED (D17) should illuminate green to confirm the card is ready.
