Geovision GV-ERM-82 Edge Recording Manager
Overview
The GV-ERM-82 is a Windows-based software application that centralizes live view, playback, and recording management for Geovision IP surveillance infrastructure. Instead of accessing each camera, NVR, or DVR through separate web interfaces, the GV-ERM-82 aggregates up to 32 channels for free (expandable to 128 channels via USB dongle or software license) on a single administrative workstation. It solves the deployment challenge of managing distributed recording sources—IP cameras, Video Servers, SNVRs, DVRs, NVRs, VMS instances, and Recording Servers—without visiting each host individually. Any connection to a source can be interrupted without disrupting the underlying device's recording or operation.
Compatibility
The GV-ERM-82 integrates with Geovision's full IP product ecosystem: GV-IP Camera series, GV-Video Servers, GV-SNVR (Standalone NVR), GV-DVR / NVR / VMS platforms, and GV-Recording Servers or Video Gateway appliances. It operates on 64-bit Windows 10, Windows 11, Server 2016, and Server 2019 environments. NAS server integration allows you to assign IP cameras to record directly to NAS storage while viewing occupied and remaining capacity from a single console—eliminating the need to manage storage allocation at each camera or recorder.
Installation Notes
Install the GV-ERM-82 application on a Windows workstation or server within your network. System requirements include 64-bit Windows 10, Windows 11, Server 2016, or Server 2019. For deployments exceeding 32 managed channels, provision a GV-USB dongle or purchase the appropriate software license. The application establishes network connections to each target device (camera, NVR, DVR, Video Server, or SNVR); ensure network routes and firewall rules permit communication between the management workstation and all surveillance devices. No specialized hardware or rack mounting is required for the software itself.
Key Capabilities
- Multi-source aggregation: Display and manage IP cameras, NVRs, DVRs, Video Servers, and Recording Servers from one interface—cuts administrative overhead when monitoring dozens of distributed endpoints.
- Fisheye dewarping: Straighten and zoom into fisheye camera footage for clearer evidence presentation without jumping to a separate viewer application.
- Flexible live display: PIP (Picture-in-Picture), PAP (Picture-and-Picture), Focus view, and Scan window layouts let you monitor multiple channels simultaneously or focus on a single high-priority feed.
- Remote recording control: Enable or disable recording on connected IP cameras, DVRs, NVRs, or VMS instances directly from the management console—no need to log into each device separately.
- NAS assignment and monitoring: Route IP camera recording to NAS servers and track storage consumption in real time from a centralized dashboard.
- Snapshot capture: Extract still images from live feeds for incident documentation or forensic export.
