Overview

The Geovision GV-VGA is a dual monitor display option designed to extend GV-VMS video management system monitoring across multiple screens simultaneously. This accessory solves the control-room problem: operators need to view live feeds and playback recordings side-by-side without context-switching or reducing visible camera coverage. The GV-VGA enables independent layout control on each display — one monitor can show live view while the second displays playback or alternative camera groups. This is critical in security operations centers and retail command centers where operator efficiency depends on seeing multiple data streams without software window shuffling.

Compatibility

The GV-VGA integrates with Geovision surveillance systems running GV-VMS (standard license: up to 32 channels; Pro license: up to 64 channels). It operates on 64-bit Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 / Server 2012 R2 / Server 2016 / Server 2019 / Server 2022 platforms with 8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended). The system supports over 500 Geovision and third-party ONVIF IP camera models, meaning the dual monitor output works with any camera type compatible with GV-VMS — no model-specific restrictions. H.264, H.265, and MJPEG streams are supported, along with up to 64 channels of audio input if deployed in audio-enabled installations.

Installation Notes

Display configuration is handled entirely within the GV-VMS software using intuitive drag-and-drop layout tools — no driver installation or special hardware required beyond standard Windows display connections (VGA, HDMI, or DisplayPort depending on your graphics card). The system supports resolutions up to 4K per monitor, allowing full-resolution playback and live view on modern displays. QView display feature enables projection of live view onto a secondary monitor independently of the primary monitoring layout. Verify your Windows system meets the RAM requirement (8 GB minimum) and that your graphics card can drive dual monitors at your target resolution.
