The GV-GDR4900 is a thermal imaging IP reader built for fixed perimeter security and access control installations. It operates on PoE (802.3af) power, eliminating the need for separate electrical runs on perimeter walls or fence lines — a significant advantage in retrofits where power infrastructure is already constrained. The thermal sensor delivers consistent detection regardless of ambient lighting or fog, making it reliable for 24/7 monitoring in industrial yards, critical facility perimeters, and high-security checkpoints where visual cameras alone won't cut it.
The unit compresses thermal imagery using H.265, which reduces bandwidth consumption compared to H.264 — meaningful when thermal streams run alongside standard IP cameras on bandwidth-limited links.
