Overview
The GV-READER-55 is a 13.56MHz contactless RFID reader built for outdoor and weatherproof access control installations. IP66 ingress protection means it handles rain, dust, and spray without degradation — install it at perimeter gates, vehicle checkpoints, or loading dock entry points where environmental exposure is unavoidable. This reader integrates into Geovision access control and surveillance systems, reading standard ISO 14443A/B and Mifare card formats. Mount it at eye level on walls at entry doors or overhead at barrier gates.
Compatibility
The GV-READER-55 works with Geovision GV-Control Center and networked IP-based access control platforms. It integrates with Geovision VMS solutions and third-party ONVIF-compliant systems for centralized event logging and credential management. Supports standard Mifare DESFire card protocols and ISO 14443A/B communication standards, making it compatible with most enterprise card issuance infrastructure. For multi-system deployments, confirm your access control panel supports the reader's Wiegand or IP-based interface protocol before deployment.
Installation Notes
Mount the GV-READER-55 on a wall at standard entry heights (typically 48–60 inches above floor). The IP66 rating provides full environmental protection, but verify that your mounting surface can support the device weight and that cabling passes through conduit if routed through external walls. Ensure 12–24V DC power supply is nearby or plan PoE injection if supported by your access control panel.
