Overview
The Middle Atlantic ERK-4FT is an active fan top panel designed to provide essential thermal management for Middle Atlantic ERK series racks. This unit directly addresses overheating issues in densely populated rack environments by facilitating the installation of three 4-inch fans. It's a critical component for maintaining optimal operating temperatures for sensitive AV and IT equipment, particularly in enclosed or high-density rack configurations. The ERK-4FT ensures consistent airflow to prevent performance degradation and extend equipment lifespan.
Compatibility
This fan top panel is specifically designed for use with Middle Atlantic ERK series racks that are 35 rack spaces or higher. It accepts up to three 4-inch (10.2 cm) fans, providing significant airflow capacity. It is not compatible with other rack series or smaller ERK models.
Installation Notes
The ERK-4FT measures 19.75 inches (50.2 cm) wide and 14.38 inches (36.5 cm) high, with a shallow depth of only 0.5 inches (1.3 cm). This compact design allows for easy integration into the top of compatible ERK racks without consuming excessive vertical space. Installation involves securing the panel to the rack frame, followed by the mounting of the selected 4-inch fans. Ensure adequate clearance for fan operation and air intake/exhaust.
