Overview

The Middle Atlantic ERK-10FT-FC is an active fan top designed to pull heat out of Middle Atlantic ERK series racks before thermal buildup degrades amplifiers, recorders, or switching gear. It runs dual 10-inch fans at 550 CFM — enough to flush a densely loaded 10U–15U rack in high-ambient environments like telecom closets, AV equipment rooms, and back-of-house security head-end bays. The ERK-10FT-FC mounts at the top of the rack and operates on 120V AC input, converting internally to 12 VDC for the fan motors. The integrated fan controller is included, so you can dial back airflow speed under lighter loads rather than running full blast continuously — useful in noise-sensitive installs or when the rack isn't at thermal capacity. This is not a passive vent; it's a DC-powered active cooling solution for racks that need predictable, managed airflow rather than passive convection.

Compatibility

The ERK-10FT-FC is purpose-built for Middle Atlantic ERK series open-frame and enclosed racks. The 19.75-inch width matches standard 19-inch rack rail spacing. Confirm your ERK rack accepts a 10-inch fan top module before ordering — smaller ERK configurations may use a different fan top footprint. This unit is not rated for international use (120V AC only; no 240V variant). It is appropriate for any ERK rack deployment where passive airflow is insufficient: high-density NVR stacks, multi-amp AV racks, or any enclosure where combined heat load exceeds what convection alone can handle.

Installation Notes

Mounts to the top panel position of compatible ERK racks. Input is 120V AC; ensure a switched or unswitched outlet is available within reach of the rack. The fan controller ships included — wire per the controller's terminals to set speed range. Fan assembly dimensions are 19.75 in W × 14.38 in H × 4.06 in D; verify top-panel clearance in your rack bay before install. Shipping weight is 13 lbs; plan accordingly for overhead rack work. Not available for international shipment.
