Overview
The Viking Electronics E-10-WHA is a telephone line powered, two-way handsfree door entry speaker phone with a white aluminum faceplate — part of the Viking Electronics entry phone lineup alongside the standard E-10A and the E-20B. It draws power directly from the telephone line (18 VDC / 20mA minimum), so no separate power supply or PoE run is required — just a POTS or PBX extension to the door location. When the Call button is pressed, the unit connects the caller on the other end for handsfree two-way conversation. At approximately 70dB maximum at 1m, the speaker is audible in typical lobby and vestibule environments. The white aluminum faceplate makes the E-10-WHA the right pick where the standard brushed aluminum finish of the E-10A won't match the door hardware or architectural spec. Dimensions are 5" x 5" x 2.25" (127mm x 127mm x 57.2mm) with a 4" x 4" x 2.15" rough-in box footprint — a standard single-gang backbox depth keeps the installation clean. Shipping weight is 2 lbs. For deployments in environments with full moisture exposure, the EWP variant (E-10-WHA-EWP) extends humidity tolerance to 100% condensing; the standard E-10-WHA is rated to 95% non-condensing but shares the same IP66 ingress protection against rain and dust.
Compatibility
The E-10-WHA is compatible with any analog telephone line, POTS circuit, or PBX/KSU analog extension that supplies at minimum 25V AC RMS ring voltage and meets the 18 VDC / 20mA line power requirement. It carries a REN of 0.8A, so it counts against the ringer equivalence number budget of the line it's connected to — verify your PBX analog port or CO line can support it alongside other devices. It is part of the same door entry intercom family as the E-10A and E-20B and shares the same rough-in box dimensions, making it a direct drop-in replacement or finish upgrade for existing E-10A installations. Not compatible with VoIP-only systems that lack an FXS analog interface without an ATA adapter.

Operating temperature range is -30°F to 150°F (-34°C to 65°C), suitable for unheated vestibules and exterior-adjacent installations in most North American climates. The IP66 rating means direct rain and jet-spray won't compromise the unit, but it is not submersion-rated — avoid installations where standing water can pool against the faceplate. CPC disconnect requires a minimum 300ms pulse; verify your PBX or CO supports this for reliable call teardown. For high-humidity exterior applications where condensation is likely, step up to the E-10-WHA-EWP which handles 100% condensing humidity.
