Overview

The VE-LIGHT is a dedicated LED illumination kit engineered to add bright, reliable lighting to Viking doorbox and entry phone enclosures. It solves a specific deployment gap: outdoor entry phones installed in low-ambient or no-ambient light conditions where callers and cameras need usable illumination at the door. The VE-LIGHT draws just 50mA at 12–24V AC or DC, so it won't stress an existing door power supply — or you can power it from the included 120VAC/12VDC 500mA UL-listed adapter. With a maximum wire run of 1,000 feet, the power source can be located well away from the entry point, which is useful when pulling a dedicated circuit to a remote gate or parking structure isn't practical. Operating range spans -15°F to 130°F, making it suitable for installations from cold-climate vestibules to sun-exposed exterior entry points.

Compatibility

The VE-LIGHT is designed exclusively for Viking stainless steel enclosures. Compatible housings are:

• VE-5x5 — Viking 5″ × 5″ surface-mount enclosure
• VE-6x7 — Viking 6″ × 7″ surface-mount enclosure
• VE-5x10 — Viking 5″ × 10″ surface-mount enclosure
• Viking Tower Phones — Viking pedestal/tower phone housings

Any Viking entry phone or doorbox housed in one of these enclosures is a valid host. This includes the E-75 Series video entry phones and similar compact handsfree speaker phone units mounted in those housings. It is not compatible with third-party enclosures or Viking enclosures outside the listed families. Verify your enclosure model before ordering — dimensions and mounting geometry are specific to these Viking housings.

Installation Notes

The lighting strip measures 5.0″ × 0.3″ × 1.0″ and mounts inside the enclosure. Wiring is 24-gauge marine-grade 316 stainless steel-compatible construction, consistent with Viking's corrosion-resistant enclosure line. Input voltage accepts 12–24V AC or DC — wire it to an existing door power supply running in that range, or use the included UL-listed 120VAC/12VDC adapter. Maximum power run is 1,000 feet, which eliminates most site-specific distance concerns. Operating humidity ceiling is 95% non-condensing, appropriate for covered outdoor entry points. Avoid installations where standing water or condensation will form on the unit directly.
