The PNL40-WH is a replacement faceplate designed specifically for Viking Electronics E-40 series door entry phones. It ships in white powder-painted finish on an 18-gauge 304 stainless steel base — the same construction as the factory original — and includes color-matching screws and an LED light pipe. The practical use case is straightforward: when a faceplate sustains cosmetic or physical damage in the field, or when a site retrofit requires a finish change to match architectural hardware, the PNL40-WH lets you replace only the front plate rather than the entire entry phone assembly. At 4.875" x 3.125" x 0.18", it fits the single-gang E-40 footprint without any modification to the backbox or wiring.

Compatibility

The PNL40-WH is compatible with the Viking E-40 series entry phone family, including the E-40-WH (single gang white door entry phone) and E-40-WH-EWP (single gang white entry phone with EWP). It is not a universal faceplate — verify the E-40 series designation on your installed unit before ordering. If your application requires a different finish, Viking offers the PNL40-BK in textured black and the standard SS model in #4 brushed 304 stainless; all three share the same mounting geometry. For a compatible mounting accessory, confirm backbox depth against the 0.18" plate thickness.

Installation Notes

The faceplate supports both flush and surface mount configurations — no adapter plate required for either approach. The push button switch carries an IP67 rating, meaning full dust exclusion and temporary submersion tolerance; the overall enclosure is rated for operating temperatures from -30°F to 150°F and humidity up to 95% non-condensing, so exposed outdoor installations in harsh climates are within spec.
