DMP PSC-1 Standard Light Proximity Card
Overview
The DMP PSC-1 is a standard proximity card credential built into a polycarbonate housing roughly the size of a credit card. It embeds RFID identification electronics and reads at up to 8 inches from a compatible proximity reader — far enough for hands-free presentation at an entry point without requiring precise alignment. At 2.2" × 3.4" × 0.6", the card is thin and flexible enough to fit in a wallet or on a strap clip, eliminating the bulk of older rigid proximity cards. The PSC-1 solves the credential-deployment problem for any access control integrator standing up proximity-based door and zone access across small to large commercial, banking, or enterprise environments.
Compatibility
The PSC-1 integrates with proximity reader systems that support standard proximity card technology. It is compatible with established DMP access control infrastructure and multi-door deployments without requiring specialized encryption or configuration management beyond standard proximity reader setup. The card format works with photo ID overlays and self-adhesive photo pouches, making it suitable for badging systems that combine access control with visual identification. Confirm your proximity reader model supports standard proximity credentials using the DMP Credential Compatibility Guide.
Installation Notes
No specialized tools or wiring are required for card deployment — the PSC-1 is a passive credential that simply presents to any proximity reader within 8 inches. Ensure your readers are positioned at entry points with clear sightlines. The polycarbonate construction handles standard indoor and light commercial environments; avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat if customizing with adhesive overlays, as adhesive longevity may degrade.
