Description

Allied Telesis AT-DMC100/LC-90 Desktop Mini Media Converter

Overview

The AT-DMC100/LC-90 is a desktop mini media converter from Allied Telesis that bridges 100Base-TX copper Ethernet to 100Base-FX fiber using an LC connector interface — solving the common integration problem of extending network segments beyond copper's 100-meter limit without replacing existing switch infrastructure. This is the federal version, shipped with a US power supply, making it the correct choice for domestic government and commercial deployments where a locally compliant power adapter is required. The AT-DMC100/LC-90 is sized for desktop or shelf mounting in head-end closets, control rooms, and edge equipment racks where a full-size chassis converter would be unnecessary overhead.

Compatibility

Designed to work with any 100Base-TX network device — including IP cameras, access control panels, intercoms, and workgroup switches — on the copper side, and any 100Base-FX fiber infrastructure using LC-format connectors on the fiber side. Verify that your fiber run and SFP or fixed-fiber switch port terminate in LC connectors before ordering; SC-terminated fiber runs require a different converter variant. Compatible with Allied Telesis switches and third-party equipment alike, provided the fiber segment conforms to 100Base-FX standards (multimode, typically 1300nm).

Installation Notes

Power is supplied via the included US-standard external adapter — confirm outlet availability at the installation point, as this unit does not draw power from the network link. Position the converter within reach of both the copper patch cable from the upstream switch or device and the LC fiber jumper to the fiber plant. No tool-based mounting is required for desktop placement; surface mounting in a rack or enclosure will require third-party brackets sized for this form factor.
