Description

Comnet CTS24+2SFP Managed Layer-2 Ethernet Transport System

Overview

The Comnet CTS24+2SFP is a 1RU managed Layer-2 Ethernet chassis designed for surveillance and industrial networks where you need to aggregate multiple camera feeds and sensor data across fiber and copper without oversubscription. The CTS24+2SFP combines 24 fast Ethernet ports (10/100TX) with 2 Gigabit uplink ports (10/100/1000TX or 1000FX SFP) — the right architecture when you're pushing video from a distributed camera array back to a central NVR or edge analytics platform. Full-duplex auto-negotiation ensures each camera gets predictable throughput; VLAN tagging (IEEE 802.1Q) lets you segment traffic by zone or camera type without requiring separate physical networks.

Compatibility

The CTS24+2SFP works with any standard PoE+ camera or analog-to-IP converter that draws up to 30W per port. Integrate with Comnet's own modular transmitter cards (up to 3 modules of 8 ports each supported on compatible chassis), or pair with third-party ONVIF-compliant NVRs and VMS systems that accept standard Ethernet input. The dual SFP uplinks accommodate both copper Gigabit and single-mode/multi-mode fiber, giving you flexibility to span longer distances or isolate noisy electrical environments typical of parking structures and outdoor industrial sites.

Installation Notes

Mount in a standard 19-inch rack (1RU footprint). Choose between 400W or 720W internal power supply depending on total camera load — calculate PoE+ draw (30W × number of cameras) and add 20% headroom. Uplink ports support both auto-sensing (copper) and fixed-speed fiber module insertion. Web-based GUI and USB CLI both available for VLAN provisioning, STP/RSTP loop prevention, and IGMP v2/v3 multicast management — essential for surveillance systems running simultaneous multi-codec recording or edge analytics streams.
