Comelit 1621 SimpleBus 2 Audio Speaker Unit
Overview
The Comelit 1621 is a 2-wire SimpleBus 2 audio unit from the IKALL series, built to replace or add an entrance station speaker/mic module on an existing SimpleBus 2 entry system. It fits any install where you need a dedicated in-room or lobby audio handset without adding a full video panel — a common retrofit when a client wants intercom coverage at a secondary door or gate without rewiring the whole riser. The unit ships with a sealed-unit loudspeaker, electret microphone, and front-mounted volume control, so audio levels are field-adjustable at the unit itself rather than buried in a config menu.
Compatibility
Model 1621 runs on Comelit's SimpleBus 2 two-wire protocol and requires power supply unit art. 1210 — it is not a standalone device and will not power up on generic PoE+ from a switch alone despite the PoE+ power spec; confirm your riser already runs SimpleBus 2 before ordering. It integrates with Comelit building entrance kits in the same 2-wire family and includes an 8-position dip switch for assigning the unit to a specific user/call address, which matters in multi-unit buildings where several 1621 units share the same bus.
Installation Notes
Enclosure measures 102x55x38 mm, small enough for a standard wall box or ceiling mount depending on the room layout. The onboard microprocessor drives an electronic lock-release function rated 3A directly, plus a separate 10A relay with C, NC, and NO contacts for larger strikes or maglocks that exceed the onboard rating — size your lock hardware against the 3A limit before wiring direct instead of through the relay. A timed lock-release input and door-open indication line are both present, useful for tying the 1621 into a controller that needs door-ajar feedback rather than just a momentary release pulse. Echo-cancelling audio processing is built into the terminal block, so no separate audio processor is needed between the unit and the bus.
