Comelit 1252 Simplebus 16-User Expansion Kit
Overview
The Comelit 1252 is a Simplebus expansion interface designed to increase intercom system capacity by up to 16 additional concurrent users on Simplebus 1 and Simplebus 2 installations. This module fits into a 6 DIN enclosure footprint and allows up to 8 audio or audio/video devices to be operated simultaneously — a practical addition when you need to scale an existing intercom deployment across multi-unit residential or commercial buildings without replacing the entire system. The interface itself does not supply power to video devices; external video power must be provisioned separately.
Compatibility
The 1252 integrates directly with Comelit Simplebus 1 and Simplebus 2 control systems. It is designed for modular intercom architectures where distributed user access and expanded call capacity are required — typical scenarios include apartment complexes, office buildings, and gated communities running phased system expansion. Confirm your existing Simplebus generation (1 or 2) before installation; this module expands user count, not audio/video bandwidth per device.
Installation Notes
The 1252 requires a 120–230VAC power supply and mounts in a standard 6 DIN-rail enclosure. No external battery backup is built in; site power redundancy should be evaluated separately if continuous availability is required. Video devices connected to this expansion interface must be powered by a separate source — budget for additional PoE injectors or power supplies in your installation plan if adding video endpoints.
