Veracity VCS-4P1-MOB Compact Mobile PoE Switch
Overview
The Veracity VCS-4P1-MOB is a four-port PoE+ (802.3at) switch built for field surveillance, temporary event monitoring, and mobile security installations where AC power is unavailable or impractical. At 290g, it delivers Ethernet fanout and integrated power in a package small enough to mount in mobile units, temporary staging boxes, or weatherproofed field enclosures. The 10/100 Mbps port speed handles standard IP camera bitstreams without saturation—meaningful for clusters of 1–4 cameras running continuous or event-triggered recording over cellular backhaul or temporary wireless links.
Compatibility
Works with any standard IP camera or networked device accepting RJ45 and 802.3at PoE power. Supports Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 cabling. The four RJ45 ports can mix camera types (fixed, PTZ, thermal) as long as total PoE draw stays under 3W per port. Integrates into temporary network architectures: point-to-point wireless bridges, mobile NVRs over Ethernet, and edge analytics nodes. No management interface required—works out of the box as a passive fanout device.
Installation Notes
Operating temperature range -10 to 50°C suits seasonal outdoor staging and climate-controlled mobile units. The 3W per-port PoE budget powers low-draw cameras (under 13W per 802.3af spec) but will not support high-wattage PTZ or thermal cameras without exceeding power limits. Verify individual camera power requirements before field deployment. RJ45 connectors are standard; use industrial-grade shielded cabling for mobile installations where vibration and electromagnetic noise are present. No DIN rail, no AC input—designed for table-top, enclosure-mount, or cable-bundled deployment scenarios.
