Camden CX-DA100 Door Alarm Sounder Single Gang
Overview
The CX-DA100 is a single-gang door prop alarm sounder that detects when a monitored door is held open beyond a configurable delay (0–60 seconds) and triggers a local 95dB audible alert. The unit mounts directly into a standard 2.5-inch-depth single-gang electrical backbox, making it suitable for retrofit and new-build access control installations where you need immediate, local notification of door-open conditions without relying on a separate sounder cabinet or remote alarm system.
Compatibility
The CX-DA100 integrates with networked access control and alarm monitoring systems via its remote alarm output relay (terminals 5–6). Wire a normally closed door contact to terminals 3–4; the sounder triggers when that contact opens and the delay timer expires. Output relay changes state to signal alarm condition to any monitoring equipment accepting 30 VDC @ 500 mA contact closures. Compatible with Camden access control platforms and third-party TCP/IP-based alarm panels that monitor relay state changes.
Installation Notes
Operate at 12 or 24 VDC; diodes are included for 24V wiring (not polarity-sensitive). For 12V operation, remove diodes and connect to screw terminals 1–2. Set the delay timer (potentiometer) to your required threshold before mounting. Unit draws 18 mA at 24VDC, so no special power conditioning is required on standard access control supplies. Terminal block is removable for easier wire entry. Secure the faceplate with included screws after wiring is complete. Loss of power is indicated by relay state change, allowing the system to distinguish between open-door alarm and power loss.
