Overview

The Camden CX-MA1214-38 is a 3/8" filler plate designed to bridge spacing gaps between door frames and magnetic lock housings on 1,200 lb capacity magnetic locks. In retrofit installations or frame variations, this gap creates misalignment and uneven load distribution across the lock face—leading to reduced holding force and accelerated wear. This plate ensures the lock sits flush and centered, maintaining the rated 1,200 lb holding force and distributing magnetic attraction evenly. Install it when existing door frame geometry leaves a cavity between the frame and the strike.

Compatibility

The CX-MA1214-38 pairs with Camden CX-91 series magnetic locks (CX-91S-12 surface-mount and CX-91M-06 mortise-mount models) operating at 24VDC. It is compatible with standard single-door access control systems and retrofit projects where frame dimensions do not allow direct lock-to-frame mounting. The plate works within existing access control infrastructure and mounting template layouts provided by Camden. Verify your specific lock model and frame depth before ordering—the 3/8" dimension must match your installation gap.

Installation Notes

Mount the filler plate between the door frame and the magnetic lock housing using the same fasteners and template-guided holes as the primary lock installation. Ensure the plate sits fully seated and does not introduce additional gaps that would compromise lock engagement. The plate does not carry electrical current—all wiring connects directly to the magnetic lock. For 24VDC systems, current draw remains unchanged (240 mA at 24VDC standard models, 285 mA with TDS option); the plate is a passive mechanical spacer. Installation time is typically 5–10 minutes as part of the main lock mounting sequence.
