Overview

The Camden CX-TRX-5024 is a 24 VAC, 50 VA transformer rated Class 2 and UL listed, designed to step down 115 VAC (60 Hz) or 117 VAC (50/60 Hz) input to a regulated 24 VAC secondary output. This unit solves the core power-conversion problem in access control installations: safely supplying Class 2 auxiliary power to electronic locks, magnetic locks, door readers, request-to-exit devices, and control relays without requiring individual power supplies for each device. Standard open-style channel-bracket mounting fits directly into electrical enclosures or cabinet frames — no separate mounting hardware or adapters needed.

Compatibility

The CX-TRX-5024 integrates into any Class 2 access control system requiring 24 VAC auxiliary power. It is compatible with electronic strike locks (mag locks, electric strikes, solenoid-driven latches), RFID readers, proximity card readers, door position switches, request-to-exit buttons, and relay modules in single-door and multi-door architectures. Installation Notes

The transformer ships with minimum 6-inch primary and secondary leads — measure your wiring runs before installation to confirm lead length. Two-hole chassis-mount design requires M4 or #8 fasteners spaced according to the dimensional drawing (bracket holes are 2 5/16 inches apart horizontally). Primary input must be 115 VAC, 60 Hz, or 117 VAC, 50/60 Hz only — do not exceed rated input voltage. Secondary output is unshielded (dual bobbin, no electrostatic shield) — route secondary leads away from long parallel runs of primary or high-frequency signal cables to minimize inductive coupling. The transformer passed hi-pot testing at 2,000 V RMS and is rated for indoor use only in dry enclosures.
