Camden CX-TRK-2450 24VAC/24VDC Transformer Rectifier
Overview
The CX-TRK-2450 is a 24VAC to 24VDC transformer-rectifier assembly designed to power electrified locks, relays, timers, and other access control devices that require stable DC voltage. It combines a 40VA transformer with a bridge rectifier to deliver approximately 2 amps of 24VDC from standard 110VAC line input. The rectifier converts the AC sine wave into DC using a four-diode bridge configuration, making it suitable for basic solenoid-driven door hardware and electromechanical security devices where the output does not require filtered or regulated power.
Compatibility
The CX-TRK-2450 supports any 24VDC load device including electrified strikes, magnetic locks, door relays, electronic timers, and similar access control hardware. It is designed for standard panel and enclosure mounting in access control installations. Output is unfiltered and unregulated, so it is appropriate for electromagnetic loads (locks, solenoids, relays) but not recommended for sensitive electronic circuits or controller boards that require clean power.
Installation Notes
The rectifier provides four wires: one pair for VDC output (red for positive, black for ground/negative) and one pair for AC input from the transformer secondary (white and black, non-polarized). Connect the rectifier's AC terminals to the transformer's secondary terminals in either order. Wire the positive (red) lead to the lock or device positive terminal; connect the ground (black) lead to device ground. Connect the transformer primary to 110VAC line voltage. The output will exhibit AC ripple on the DC level due to lack of filtering; this ripple is typically acceptable for solenoid-operated locks but unsuitable for microprocessor-based access control panels.
