Brother PTP900C Desktop Thermal Transfer Label Printer
Overview
The Brother PTP900C is a portable desktop thermal transfer label printer built for warehouse, logistics, and facility labeling. It prints at 360 dpi resolution and 2.4 inches per second on media up to 36mm (1.4 inches) wide—tape widths from 3.5mm to 36mm. The automatic dual-blade cutter handles both full-cut and easy-peel strip modes, so you can produce individual labels or linked stock without manual trimming. USB and RS232 Serial connectivity let you integrate it into existing networked or standalone label workflows.
Compatibility
The PTP900C accepts standard Brother thermal transfer tape cartridges and works with any system that can send Raster, ESC/P, or P-touch Template print commands via USB v2.0 or serial RS232C. It's compatible with warehouse management systems, inventory software, and logistics platforms that support these print protocols. Flash memory (6MB) stores templates and fonts locally, so you can print pre-defined label layouts without constant host communication.
Installation Notes
The printer ships without battery. It uses a rechargeable Li-ion battery (PA-BT-4000LI, sold separately) that charges in 6 hours and yields approximately 20 tapes per charge cycle (300 cycles total battery life). Dimensions are 4.65 in W × 5.75 in H × 7.56 in L; weight is 3.27 lbs without tape, battery base, or battery. USB and serial ports are on the rear panel. Supports two-dimensional barcodes including QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, and Maxicode, so verify your label-design software can generate these formats if you need barcode printing.
