It is designed for 1U rack installations where per-outlet load visibility matters — data closets, network equipment racks, and security head-end racks where you need to track consumption per device without deploying a full intelligent PDU. The PE8108A includes a 3-meter power cord and supports rack power distribution in environments requiring UL safety verification. Firmware is actively maintained; the current release is v2.5.248 (April 2026). Software monitoring via PMonitor is available for both Linux and Windows management environments, giving rack administrators remote visibility into outlet-level draw without manual amp-clamping.

Installation Notes

Derate to 12A continuous load — at 15A input, NEC and UL practice limits sustained draw to 80% (12A) to prevent thermal tripping. Size your connected load accordingly before commissioning. Operating humidity range is 0–80% RH non-condensing; avoid installations in unconditioned spaces subject to condensation. The included 3-meter cord provides reach from the PDU mounting position to the rack's power strip or floor outlet. Firmware upgrades are delivered via zip package (pe8-v2.5.248.zip) and applied through the unit's management interface — no on-site technician required for routine firmware maintenance.
