Overview
The ACTi PMAX-0729 is a round junction box engineered to organize cabling and connections at ceiling or wall-mounted camera installations. This accessory consolidates PoE wiring runs and camera connections into a single junction point, reducing visible wire clutter and simplifying troubleshooting in retrofit or new-build surveillance deployments. The box accepts standard network cables and mounts flush to ceiling or wall surfaces, making it ideal for clean installation aesthetics where cable management is visible to end users or facility managers.
Compatibility
The PMAX-0729 is designed specifically for ACTi Z39, Z48, and Z49 series cameras. It supports PoE (802.3af) powered systems, meaning your existing network infrastructure can power both the camera and this junction box without additional power supplies at the mounting point. Verify your camera model against the Z-series family before ordering — this box is not cross-compatible with other camera manufacturers or ACTi series outside these three models.
Installation Notes
Mount the junction box to ceiling or wall studs using appropriate fasteners for your surface material (drywall anchors, concrete wedges, or wood screws — not supplied). Route PoE cable into the box, allowing slack for future camera repositioning or lens adjustment. Secure all internal connections before sealing the box. Environmental limits: suitable for standard indoor commercial spaces; not rated for outdoor or extreme temperature swings without additional enclosure protection. If deployed in dusty environments (warehouses, manufacturing), consider periodic cleaning to prevent connector corrosion.
