Overview
The ACTi MDS-100 is a compact wireless media display station designed to integrate live security camera feeds, digital signage, and content streams into a single consolidated display endpoint. Built on a Broadcom BCM2837 processor (ARM Cortex-A53 1.2 GHz 64-bit), the MDS-100 accepts RTSP and RTMP video streams directly from IP surveillance systems, eliminating the need for separate monitoring workstations in monitoring centers, lobbies, or command posts. PoE power (DC 5V via standard 5V adapter) simplifies installation—no dedicated AC infrastructure required. Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) and Ethernet (10/100 Base-T) connectivity ensure flexible network integration across wired and wireless surveillance deployments.
Compatibility
The MDS-100 integrates with any IP-based surveillance system delivering RTSP or RTMP video streams. This includes standard ONVIF-compliant IP cameras, PTZ systems, and thermal imaging platforms that output standardized video protocols. The unit also supports content beyond camera feeds: YouTube video playback, PDF documents, PowerPoint presentations (PPT/PPTX), Word documents (DOC/DOCX), web pages, and custom widgets—making it suitable for hybrid surveillance and corporate digital signage deployments. A microSDXC memory card slot provides local storage for cached content or offline playlists. Four USB 2.0 ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack (line out) enable peripheral connectivity for additional input sources or audio reinforcement in monitoring spaces.
Installation Notes
Operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) with humidity tolerance of 10–85% RH—suitable for indoor climate-controlled environments only. Do not deploy in unheated or outdoor locations. Single HDMI output supports one monitor; wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi allow remote content provisioning from cloud-based management systems. Power draw is minimal (DC 5V input); standard PoE-compatible supplies suffice. CE and FCC certifications confirm regulatory compliance for both EU and North American installations.
