ACTi ECD-200 16-Channel Video Decoder

Overview

The ACTi ECD-200 is a 16-channel video decoder that converts H.265 and H.264 IP streams into HDMI and VGA output for wall-mounted or pole-mounted display systems. It decodes megapixel-resolution video from ACTi cameras (and other ONVIF Profile S devices) at up to 30 fps, supports custom grid-based display layouts, and includes 2-way audio for intercom or event notification. The unit runs on PoE (802.3af), eliminating the need for separate power infrastructure in modest deployments. Deploy this decoder in control rooms, security offices, or remote viewing stations where you need live or playback video from an ACTi camera system on a large-format display without requiring a full VMS workstation.

Compatibility

The ECD-200 is fully compatible with all ACTi IP cameras across all resolutions and codec variants. It supports ONVIF Profile S, allowing integration with third-party ONVIF-compliant cameras (e.g., Axis, Hikvision, Hanwha) where H.265 or H.264 streams are available. The unit connects to standard Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Base-T) and outputs video via HDMI (1080p / 4K) or VGA (1080p). Local display supports 1 simultaneous viewer; remote clients (over IP) are limited to 2 concurrent connections. Audio input/output (line-level, 2-way) integrates with standard audio amplification or headset systems for two-way communication or event-driven alerts.

Installation Notes

Mount the ECD-200 on a wall or pole using the standard mounting hardware. The Hi3536 processor handles decoding and layout rendering locally — no license is required. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F); avoid humid or freezing environments. One SATA bay is available for optional internal storage (sold separately) if local playback buffering is required. A mini-PCIe slot supports optional wireless modules (Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n) for remote management or failover connectivity. Power consumption is covered by standard 802.3af PoE; no separate DC supply is needed unless wireless modules draw additional current — verify with your PoE switch budget.
